Our Story
Seth built a treehouse for his honeymoon. Tori helped him turn it into a place where thousands of couples come to find each other again.
Chapter 1 · 2015
In 2015, Seth Bolt was touring the world with his band, NEEDTOBREATHE. Cities every night. Stages, studios, the pace of a life built on music. But he kept getting pulled back to the farmland of Walhalla, South Carolina, where he'd grown up working the land with his father.
He wanted stillness. So he started building. Seth and his dad began constructing a treehouse on the family farm, a place to rest between tours. Then he met Tori, and the treehouse took on a new purpose: it was being built for their wedding day.
“We decided to open it to the public, hoping that other busy people would welcome the invitation to turn off their phones, clear their schedule, and unlock the magic of distraction-free quality time.”
Tori Bolt
Chapter 2 · 2016
Seth and Tori honeymooned in the very treehouse he'd built with his own hands. No notifications. No distractions. Just nature, stillness, and each other. They journaled, dreamed, prayed, and talked about what their lives would look like. Everything kept pointing back to one thing: more of this.
They had no idea how many people were craving exactly that.

Chapter 3 · 2017–2020
Word spread fast. Within months, the treehouse was the #1 Airbnb in South Carolina with a six-month waitlist. So they went bigger: a 35-acre island property near Charleston, four more treehouses. They sold their house, lived in a camper on the land, and put everything into the dream.
Then the island passed short-term rental regulations. Overnight, everything was shut down. After a year of fighting for the business in Charleston, Seth and Tori sold and started over somewhere their vision would be welcomed.
Chapter 4 · Today
What started as 18 acres is now an award-winning 55-acre retreat with over a mile of bluff frontage overlooking the Sequatchie Valley.
30+ Private Sanctuaries
Luxury treehouses, geodesic domes, mirrored cabins, and architectural spaces that don't look like anywhere you've stayed before. Every one built around the same idea: make it impossible not to slow down.
Multi-Acre Wellness Campus
A spa overlooking the Sequatchie Valley with views into three states. Couples come here to do nothing together, on purpose, for the first time in a long time.
Curated for Couples
Private dining, outdoor adventures, and experiences built around doing something together that isn't staring at your phones. A strong marriage takes tending — this is a place built for that.
Why We Do This
“We built Bolt Farm because we know what happens when two people step away from the noise and actually choose each other. It changed our marriage. It changed how we live. Thousands of couples later, we keep hearing the same thing back.”

Bolt Farm Guest
In 2015, Seth Bolt was touring the world with his band, NEEDTOBREATHE — cities every night, stages, studios, the relentless pace of a life built on music. But his spirit kept pulling him back to where he started: the quiet farmland of Walhalla, South Carolina, where he'd grown up working the land alongside his father.
He craved stillness in nature, so he started building.
Seth and his father began constructing a treehouse on the family farm — a personal retreat to rest and recharge between tours. Then he met Tori. And just like that, the treehouse had a new purpose. It was being designed with his future bride in mind to become a place worthy of their wedding day.

The Honeymoon That Sparked a Movement
In 2016, Seth and Tori honeymooned in the very treehouse he'd built with his own hands — surrounded by nature, stillness, and each other. No notifications. No distractions. No noise. Just intentional space.
They journaled, dreamed, prayed, and talked about what their lives would look like. Everything kept pointing back to one thing: more of this.
"We decided to open it to the public," Tori says, "hoping that other busy people would welcome the invitation to turn off their phones, clear their schedule, and unlock the magic of distraction-free quality time."
They had no idea how many people were craving exactly that.
From Honeymoon Dream to Six-Month Waitlist
Within months, the treehouse was named the #1 Airbnb in South Carolina. The waitlist stretched six months out. Over 10,000 people added it to their wishlists. Guests came from all 50 states and countries around the world.Fueled by this momentum, they found a 35-acre property on an island near Charleston, SC and built four more treehouses — each rooted in the same intention: create an environment so immersive that couples have no choice but to slow down and reconnect. They sold their house, lived in a humble camper on the land, and invested everything they had into the dream. And then, the dream almost died.

Losing Everything. Starting Over.
The island passed short-term rental regulations. Overnight, everything was shut down.
After spending over a year fighting for their business in Charleston, they decided to sell the property and start over in a new location where their vision would be welcomed.
In 2020, they cast a wider net and found an 18-acre mountaintop in Whitwell, Tennessee, with views stretching across three states. Bolt Farm welcomed its first guests in June 2021.
Colin,

What We've Built Here
What started as 18 acres is now an award-winning 55-acre retreat, with over a mile of bluff frontage overlooking the Sequatchie Valley.
Today, Bolt Farm is home to over 30 private sanctuaries — luxury treehouses, geodesic domes, mirrored cabins, and architectural spaces unlike anything else in the country. Each one designed as an environment engineered for reconnection. They built a multi-acre Spa & Wellness Haven with a view of three states and designed curated experiences for couples — because a strong marriage doesn't happen by accident.
Why We Do This
“We built Bolt Farm because we experienced firsthand what happens when two people step away from the noise and choose to be fully present with each other. It changed our marriage. It changed our lives. And now, thousands of couples later, we've watched it do the same for others.” - Seth Bolt
Guests have shared that their stay "added 25 years to their marriage." That they "remembered why they chose each other." That they "talked about things that matter for the first time in months.
"That's not a vacation. That's a relationship reset — and it's exactly what Seth and Tori set out to create, with a dream that refused to die.
