Bolt Farm Charleston FAQ

  • Can I book a single night reservation?
We have a 2-night minimum stay at the treehouse during the week (with check-in on Mondays & Wednesdays) and a 3-night minimum on the weekends (check-in Friday, check out on Monday).

  • What is The VIP Experience?
Our goal as Airbnb Superhosts is to ensure every guests' treehouse experience truly unforgettable. The VIP Experience adds a wonderful variety of fun activities, sweet treats, keepsakes, and extras to make you feel even more “on top of the world” during your stay! • When are you releasing more dates?
We release a block of dates every "Treehouse Release Day!” On the 15th of each month, we will release a block of dates (which are typically 3-4 months in advance). Reservations are first come, first served, and sell out fast! Set your reminders for next month's Treehouse Release Day on the 15th. Sign up for our TREEmail newsletter and follow us on Instagram to stay updated on new announcements!

  • Is the treehouse open all year?
Yes, we are open all year round! The room is equipped with air conditioning, heating, and a romantic indoor fireplace. We also have an outdoor campfire for our VIP Treehouse Experience users. The outdoor shower has a steady supply of hot water. With our amenities, you will be comfortable anytime of the year!

  • Is there much to do in the area?
Absolutely! We are located in charming Charleston County, which has been voted the #1 city in the world by Travel & Leisure for 5 consecutive years! We are neighbors with the iconic Charleston Tea Plantation, and minutes away from Charleston’s only vineyard (Deep Water Vineyard). We are 30 minutes from historic, downtown Charleston, Beachwalker & Folly Beaches and the airport. While there’s endless options to things to do in town, we recommend kicking up your feet and relaxing in your private treehouse suite located on our private 30-acre farm.

  • What time is check in/out?
Check in is at 3 pm on the day of arrival, and check out is 11 am on the day of departure.

  • Can I check in early?
We can arrange an early check in for a small charge as long as there is no reservation the night before. Early check in is not available if someone is staying in the treehouse the night before your stay, as they would not checkout until 11 am. We need time between reservations to ensure that you have the perfect arrival at the treehouse. Feel free to ask us for suggestions and fun things to do nearby before your check in time.

  • The dates I want are booked, do you have a cancellation list?
Yes! We do have a cancellation list, and when dates become available we will contact you. Please let us know when you are looking to stay by filling out the form on our 'Contact' page. We are more than happy to add you to our cancellation list.

  • Is food provided?
We offer coffee, toast & snack bars. We do not serve full meals at this time. The treehouses have a custom-built kitchenette, equipped with a mini-fridge, cooktop and cookware. We also have a grill and pizza oven on the deck! We recommend picking up food on the way that you can store inside your treehouse suite and enjoy a picnic on the treehouse deck! The VIP Treehouse Experience comes with wine and the ultimate s’mores kit!

  • Can I bring my own wine?
Wine not! ;) A bottle of wine is provided for you when you purchase the VIP Treehouse Experience. Please enjoy red wine anywhere besides on top of our white sheets and rug. Spills happen to the best of us and you will be responsible to replace damaged items.

  • Are there restaurants close by?
There are some great, farm-table restaurants nearby! Let us know if we can call to make reservation for you during your stay. Some of our favorites include:

    • Fat Hen- Southern, farm-to-table. (Not open on Sundays)

    • Low Tide Brewing- A local brewery with food trucks for a delicious and casual night out! (Not open Sunday)

  • What airport should I fly into?
Charleston International Airport (CHS) in North Charleston is 30 minutes from us! While Uber is available, we recommend getting a rental car during your stay.

  • Will I hear nature sounds inside the treehouse?
Yes, you’ll hear the birds singing, raindrops on the tin roof (if it rains during your stay) and the calming hum of crickets at night. Acorns and sticks are also prone to falling on the tin roof, don’t be alarmed. :)

  • Can I get married at Bolt Farm Treehouse, and how much does that cost?
Yes! We will be launching Bolt Farm Weddings in fall 2019 for weddings 100 people or less.

  • What is your cancellation policy?
We have a strict cancellation policy due to the high demand for reservations. Cancel up to 7 days before check in and get a 50% refund. Cancel within 7 days of your trip and the reservation is non-refundable.

  • Is there a bathroom?
Yes, of course! We have a bathroom inside the main treehouse suite with one of our signature chandeliers inside. The shower is outside on the deck, just steps away from the front door.

  • What should I do with my trash?
We ask that you leave all trash and recycling in the small can located inside your treehouse suite. We will take care of the rest after you check out!

  • Is there internet at the treehouse?
The treehouse has cell phone reception, but we intentionally do not provide wifi inside because we hope each guest uses this time to disconnect from technology and enjoy nature and whomever they’re traveling with. Our vision is for our treehouse to be a place where technology doesn’t get in the way of quality time, a place where creative people can come to work without being interrupted, and a place where there is peace and quiet from the noise of the internet. Pro Tip: Tell your friends you will be staying in an amazing treehouse, but “unfortunately” there is no service so you will be off the grid for a few days! :)

  • Can I charge my phone anywhere?
Yes! The treehouse has several electric sockets for charging your phone if necessary.

  • Are children allowed at the treehouse?
Our treehouse was built for adults, and for liability reasons, we do not allow children under the age of 15 to stay in the treehouse. Our farm isn't childproof as there are many antiques and breakables inside the treehouse.

  • Are pets allowed?
We love animals, but we take pet-allergies seriously. Your furry friends have to stay at home.

  • Can friends visit me during my stay?
The WILDFLOWER TREEHOUSE & The LIVING Room TREEHOUSE are both intended for two people. Please contact us before your stay if you’d like to have friends join you for the day.
